ඥ, A letter compounded of the above and of ජ,= ජ්ඤ, but the ජ්is often dropped in or dianry pronunciation when it occurs as the inuitial letter of a word.

ඥ, suf. signifying knowing, as ශාස්ත්‍රඥ knowing or understanding science; ශාස්ත්‍රඥයා, scientist.

ඥප්තිය, n. knowledge, understanding, දැන ගැම්ම, දන්නාකම.

ඥපිත, ඥප්ත, a. known, ascertained, දැනගන්න ලද.

ඥාත, a. known, දැනගන තිබෙන.

ඥාතව්‍ය, ඥාන·ගම්‍ය, a. knowable, ascertainable, දැනගතහැකිවූ; that should be ascertained, දැනගතයුතු.

ඥාති, a. related, kindred, නෑවූ.

ඥාති·කුලය, n. kindred, නෑවූ ජාතිය, නෑයෝ.

ඥාතිත්‍වය, n. kinship, relationship, නෑකම.

ඥාතියා, n. kinsman, relative, නෑයා.

ඥාන·කාමය, n. love of knowledge, philomathy.

ඥාන·ගජීනාව, n. fame of or for knowledge or learning, උගත්කමට ඇති කීර්‍තතිය.

ඥාන·දර්‍ශනය, n. vision by internal knowledge, transcendental or supernatural vision of the past, present, and future, as was possessed by Buddha &c., to be obtained by deep meditation on the lives of Buddha and other eminent saints.

ඥාන·දීපය, n. lamp of knowledge or wisdom, ඥානපහන.
