අති වර්‍ණ ගත, a. high-coloured, බොහෝ පාට ඇති (සිතියම, &c.)

අව බෝධකරවනවා, v. c. to cause to understand (anything), තෝරාදෙනවා; to illumine, (සිත) පහදවනවා.

ඝටය, n. ascetic's clotted hair, කැටිගැහුණු ඉස කේ; mane, (සිංහ) කේශර.

ධාරණයකරනවා, v. t. to place, fix, deposit, තබ නවා, පිහිටුවනවා; sustain, දරනවා; hold, retain (සිහියේ &c.) තබාගන්නවා.

සිංහල, a. Sinhalese: (සිංහ lion, ල to take or bay). The word is said to be derived from සිංහබාහු whose father was a lion. සිංහබාහු bew the lion, and in consequence his descendants from his son විජය who conquered and colonized Ceylon received the name සිංහල.

සිතෝදර, n. (සිත white, උදර), white-bellied one; ap. of කුවේර, who is said to be white with leprosy.
