පටවිය, n For පඨවි: the earth, පොළොව පටවුම, n. hiding one's self, සැඟවීම.

පඨනය, n. reading, reciting, කියවීම, කීම.

පඨනයකරනවා, v. t. to read, කියවනවා, recite, say, කියනවා.

පඨනීය,පඨිතව්‍ය, a. that should be read, readable, කියවිය යුතුවූ.

පඨම, a. P. of ප්‍රථම: first, former, පළමු.

පඨම·සංගීති·කථාව, n. (සංගිති rehearsal), history of the first rehearsal of the B. Scriptures.

පඨමඡ්ඣානය, n. P. of ප්‍රථමධ්‍යානය.

පඨමා, a. P. of ප‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍්‍ර‍ථමා: gram. first or nominative (case).

පඨවි, n. P. of පෘථිවි: the earth.

පඨවි·ධාතුව, n. one of the five elements, viz. the earth, පොළොව. See පංචමහාභූතයෝ.

පරි·කසිණ, n. (පරි around, කසිණ all), an observance and attainment of ascetics preparatory to the performance of ධ්‍යාන: it consists of one of the following, viz. තේජෝකසිණ, ආ පෝකසිණ, ආකාසෝකසිණ or පඨවිකසිණ. The mind and all its faculties must be so concentrated upon its object that nothing else is perceptible to the senses. See each one of the four.
