අද්‍රි තනයා, n. lit. mountain-daughter, viz. daughter of Himālaya: ap. of Durgā, පාර්‍වතී.

උමයංගනාව, උමයඟන, උමා, උමාකත, උමාදේවි, n. names of the goddess Pārvati or Durga, පාර්‍වතී, දුර්‍ගා.

ගංගා දේවී, n. the goddess Ganges or Pārvati wife of Siva, පාර්‍වතී.

ගණේශ, n. (ගණ companies or classes, ඊශ Lord), the god of wisdom, son of Siva and පාර්‍වතී. His image in H. temples is that of a short, fat man with an elephant's head. He is appealed to and worshipped as the remover of obstacles in all undertakings and compositions. He is chief of the various classes of subordinate deities who are Siva's attendants.

ගිරිජා, n. fem. mountain-born female: ap. of දුර්‍ගා alias පාර්‍වතී.

නග·නන්‍දනී, n. lit. mountain-daughter; ap. of Durgā, wife of Siva, as being in one of her characters the daughter of Himālaya, and for the same reason named also පාර්‍වතී.

පාර්‍වත, a. hilly, mountainous, කඳුකර.

පාර්‍වති, n. ap. of Durga as daughter of Himālaya, king of the snow mountains, දුර්‍ගා.

පාර්‍වති, olibanum tree, Boswellia serrata; also the nettle-tree, Trema orientalis; and for ඇටකෙහෙල්.
