අෂ්ට පාරාජිකා, n. pl. B., the eight indelible sins of nuns.

ගරුකපත්තිය, n. (·ආපත්තිය), great or serious sin (involving expulsion from the priesthood): see පාරාජිකා.

චාතුම්භා·රජිකය, n. (චතුර් four, මහාරජිකය what pertains to the demigods called මහා රාජිකායෝ), the first or lowest heaven, the residence of those demigods, who are regents of the four quarters of the world; the sky, අහස.

පරි·බ්‍රාජිකා, a. ascetic, තාපය.

පරි·බ්‍රාජිකාව, n. female ascetic, nun, තාපසී.

පරි·බ්‍රාජිකාවෝ, n. hon. ascetic, monk, තාපය උන්නාන්සේ.

පාරාජිකා, a. meriting expulsion; pert. to the four heinous offences which exclude from the priesthood and for which there is no expiation in this life. viz. sexual intercourse, theft, murder, false assumption of the name and character of a 'rahat'.

විනය·පිටකය, n. name of one of the B. sacred books, the second of the Three Pitakas relating entirely to the priests. It is divided into five main parts called respectively පාරාජිකා, ප‍චිති, සුළුවග, මහවග and පරිවාර, this last being a summary of the chief doctrines of the other four.
