මන්‍දර, n. a mountain so called, with which, it is said, the ocean waa stirred up or churned by the Suras and Asuras after the deluge to recover the sacred things lost therein; a tree of Paradise or ස්වර්‍ගය. See මදරගිර.

යම, යමයා, n. The Indian Pluto, who is the Regent of the South and of death, and judge in the infernal region called පාතාලය of those who at death go there because it is doubtful whether they are bad enough for නරකාදිය or good enough for ස්වර්‍ගය, virtue and vice being about equal in them, their fate Yama decides: දකුණු දිශාවේ දෙවියා, යමරජ.
