අඟ, n. horn of an animal; pl. or a. අං.

අඩි හපනවා, v. to stamp or strike the foot on anything, as animals, &c.

අණ්ඩජයා, n. animal born from an egg, as a bird, &c.

අරකා, pron. mas. that one (fellow or animal); pl. අරකාලා.

අලක්ත, අලක්තක, n. lac, gumlac, ලතු, ලාකඩ; red animal-dye, ලතුදිය.

අලර්‍කයා, n. mad dog, පිස්සු බල්ලා; fabulous animal.

අෂ්ට දුෂ්ට ක්ෂණ, n. pl. the eight evil moments or occasions, viz. to be born 1 in hell, 2 as an animal, 3 as a goblin, 4 in the two Brahma worlds where neither body nor mind exists, 5 in outer or distant countries where Buddhism is not, 6 with the five senses perverted or confused, 7 as a pagan, 8 in a Buddhaless age.

ආත්ම ඝෝෂයා, n. lit. self-sounder, viz. animal with an onomatopoetic name, as කොහා cuckoo, ‍කාක්කා, crow, කුකුළා, cock.

ඇතිකරනවා, v. t. to rear, breed (animals); to bring up, nurture (a child).

ඉව, n. scent, odour, (of an animal), trail.

උත්තුංග, a. (උත් emp., තුංග high), very high, lofty, tall, උස්වු; raised, erect (as ears of animals), ඔසවාපු.
