අ ප්‍ර ව්‍රජිත, a. (see ප්‍රව්‍රජිත), non-ascetic, තාපස නොවන, R. C., non-clerical, secular, නොපැ විදි, ගිහි.

අ ශ්‍රමණ, a. non-ascetic, laic, ගිහි; unpriestly, unbecoming a monk, තාපසයාට නුසුදුසු.

අනගාරික, a. (අන් අගාරික), not dwelling in a house, houseless. ගෙයක් නැති, ascetic, තාපස.

අභි නිෂ්ක්‍රමණය, n. going out, retiring (as an ascetic from the world), තපස් පිණිස නික්ම යාම.

අෂ්ට ධර්‍මය, n. the law of eight, viz. the eight essentials for becoming a Buddha: 1 manhood, 2 the male sex, 3 merit, 4 to have seen a Buddha, 5 ascetic condition, monkhood, 6 virtuousness, 7 aspiration to Buddhahood, 8 a strenuous heart for it.

ආකාසෝ කසින, n. P., ascetic observance or attainment so called, viz, fixing the mind exclusively upon the element of air. See පරිකසින.

ආ‍‍පෝ ක්සිනය, n. (ආ‍‍පෝ fr. ආප: water), supen natural power over the humours of the body, attained by ascetic meditation; ascetic observance or attainment so called, viz. fixing the mind exclusively upon the element of water. See පරිකසින.

උනම්බරයා, උනඹරයා, n. naked ascetic, heretical naked ascetic.

කමඩ, කමණ්ඩලුව, කමඬලාව, කමඬාව, n. ascetic's water-pot, කෙණ්ඩිය.

කසිණ මණ්ඩලය, n. ascetic disk about two feet in diameter, meditation-platform.

කසුප්, n. E of කාශ්‍යප: ascetic, තාපසයා, ජටි ලයා.

කාමභෝගී, a. enjoying or using the five senses, viz. non-ascetic, laic, ගිහි.

කාලජර, n. ap. of Siva; the country Kallinjer; a company of religious mendicants, තාපස සමූහය. Kallinjer, is one of the places mentioned in the Vedas as suitable for asceticism.

කූට තාපසයා, n. pretended ascetic, counterfeit monk.

ගිහි, a. E. of non-ascetic, laic, lay.
