පතඦලි, n. (පත fallen, අඦලි hands joined for respect or devotion), name of a sage, the author of the Patanjali or Yoga philosophy, who is said to have fallen from heaven into the hands of Pānini whilst engaged in devotion; also the name of the author of Mahābhāshya or commentary of Pānini, and of the Charaka, a medical work: also ap. of the poet Vararuchi.

සඟිය, n. (cp. සංගීතී), compilation, collection, සංග්‍රහය, sp. the five Sangis or divisions of Buddha's teachings, called දික්, මැදුම්, සංයුත්, අංගෝත්තර and කුදුගොත්. To these are added commentaries and glosses, and the difficult passages of these again are explained in other works called ග්‍රන්‍ථිපද, knotty passages.

සිව්·පිළි·සිඹියා, n pl. (පිළි emp., සිඹියා knowledge. See පටිසමගිදාන), the four kinds of knowledge attained by Rahats, viz. of meaning, අර්‍ථ, of religious doctrines, ධර්‍ම, of commentaries on the same, නිරුක්ති, and superhuman enlightenment ප්‍රතිහාන.
