අ චේතන, අ චේතනික, අ චේතසික, අ චේතසක, a. destitute of mind or thought, සිහිබුද්ධි නැති; unconscious, දැනීමනැති; inanimate, lifeless, පණනැති; involuntary, involitive (mood, &c.), ඉබේ වෙන්නාවූ, අකර්‍මක.

අ සංඥා තලය, අ සඤ්ඤ තලය, n. plane of unconsciousness, name of a Brahma world, එනම්වූ බඹලොව.

අර්‍ධ මූර්‍චඡිත, a. half unconscious, semi-conscious, අඩ සිහියෙන් සිටින, ටිකක් ක්ලාන්තවූ.

ආත්ම ඥ, ආත්ම බුද්ධික, a. self-conscious, තමා ගැන දන්නාවූ.

ක්ලේශය, n. any passion, desire or evil affection, අභිලාෂය, කෙලෙස්; sorrow, affliction, care, දුක. B. teaches that ක්ලේශය or desire is the root of all sin and sorrow, and renders transmigration and continued existence inevitable until all ක්ලේශ are subdued and exterminated; when that is accomplished නිර්‍වාණ or non-existence is attained. The non-attainment of it,—that is, continued conscious existence,—is regarded as a calamity, and it is the supreme object of B. and its laws and observances to effect the extermination of ක්ලේශ.

චුති·චිත්‍තය, n. the dying mind or mind there is at death or consciousness of departure.

දැනීමනැති, දැනුමනැති, a. lit. and fig. senseless, unconscious.

දැනුවත්ව, p. as ad. knowingly, consciouby.

දැනුවත්වසිටිනවා, v. i. to be aware of, conscious of.

නේවඤ්ඤනාසඤ්ඤයතනය, n. the fourth formless Brahma world, which is so intangible or subtile that there is neither consciousness or unconsciousness.

පංච·ස්කන්‍ධ, n. pl. the five divisions or constituents of man: රූපස්කන්‍ධය &c., viz, රූපය, the body; වේදනාස්කන්‍ධය, feeling, perception; සංඥාස්කන්‍ධය, bare recognition or apprehension; සංස්කාරස්කන්‍ධය, moral or mental state, as of covetousness or doubt &c. to the number of fifty different states; විඥනස්ක න්‍ධය, knowledge, consciousness. The five are divided into two parts, නාම and රූප, of which four ස්කන්‍ධ, portions, belong to නාමය or the mind.

මුස·පත්, a. fainted, unconscious, ක්ලාන්ත වු, මුච්ජාව වු.
