කල්පය, n. a period said to be equal to a day of Brahma which equals 4,320,000,000 solar years: it is the Sakwala or world period, which is divided into four parts, viz. its formation, its duration, its destruction and its non-entity until the commencement of its reformation. It is difficult, however, to reconcile the various statements one with another, since during the Kalpa the age of man is said to gradually increase from ten years to an asankhya and again to diminish gradually to ten years: an asankhya being about the twentieth power of a million.

කූර්‍මෝදරය, n. (කූර්‍ම උදරය), a disease, induration of the mesenteric glands.

පැවැත්ම, n. existence, duration, subsistence; entity, substance; habit, custom.

යුගය, n. two, couple, කුට්ටම, pair, යුග ලය; yoke, වියගහ; a measure of four cubits; era, age or duration of the world, the four ages are called කෘත or සතය,ත්‍රෙතා,ද්වාපාර, and කලි, which last is the present age: see කෘතයුගය &c.

සදා·ගතිය, n. (ගති going, duration), lit, permanent or ever-going one, ap. of the sun ඉර, and of the air or wind, හුළඟ.
