අ ප්‍රලම්බ, a. not pendent, එල්ලීනැති; not dilatory or delaying, not tardy, expeditious, ප්‍රමාදනැති, කඩිනම්.

අ විලම්බ, අ විලම්බිත, a. unhesitating, prompt, expeditious, ප්‍රමාදනැති, කඩිනම්.

අ විශ්වාසකරනවා, v. t. to disbelieve, discredit, distrust.

අ සම්පාදිත, a. (සම් for සං), unprepared unpremeditated, සූදානම්නැති, කලින් අදහස්නො කරනලද.

අට සමවත්, n. pl. the eight attainments or devout meditations. See අෂ්ටසමාපත්ති.

අටඟ මග, n. (අට, අග portion, section), the eightfold way to Nirvāna, i. e. the way embracing eight sections, viz. — 1. සම්‍යක් දෘෂ්ටිය, right view, orthodoxy. 2. සම්‍යක් සංකල්පනාව, right volition or determination. 3. සම්‍යක් වචනය, right speech. 4. සම්‍යක් කර්‍මන්තය, right action. 5. සම්‍යක් ආජීවය, right living or livelihood. 6. සම්‍යක් ව්‍යායාමය, right effort. 7. සම්‍යක් සමෘතිය, right remembrance or contemplation of the past. 8. සම්‍යක් සමාධිය, right meditation.

අභි ධ්‍යානය, අභි ධ්‍යාව, n. (අභි emp., ධ්‍යාන &c., fixing the mind on), covetousness, avarice, තණ්හාව; meditation, භාවනාව.

අරමුණුකරනවා, v. t. to premeditate, purpose, intend, resolve, අදහස්කරනවා.

අවජුන, n. E. of ආවර්‍ජනාව: meditation, cogitating, මෙනෙහි කිරීම.

අවදන, n. E. of ආවජර්‍ජනාව: meditation, excogitation, කල්‍පනා කිරීම.

අෂ්ට විද්‍යා, n. pl. the eight kinds of knowledge possessed by Rahats, viz. 1 knowledge attained by religious meditation, 2 knowledge of how to perform supernatural things, 3 knowledge of the various supernatural powers, 4 divine or supernatural hearing, 5 knowledge of others' hearts, 6 knowledge of previous existences, 7 divine sight, 8 knowledge of how to subdue the passions.

අෂ්ට සමාපත්ති, n. pl. B., the eight attainments, or the four meditations (see ධ්‍යානය) and the four endeavours (ආයතන), which are ආකාසා නංචායතනය, විඤ්ඤාණංචායතනය, ආකිචංඤ්ඤායත නය and නේවසංඤ්ඤාණසඤ්ඤායතනය: see each one.

ආනා පාන සතිය, ආනා පාන සමෘතිය, n. remembering or meditating severally upon one's inspiration and expiration.

ආවේණ්ක, a. hereditary, ancestral, patrimonial: see ප්‍රවේණි.

ආ‍‍පෝ ක්සිනය, n. (ආ‍‍පෝ fr. ආප: water), supen natural power over the humours of the body, attained by ascetic meditation; ascetic observance or attainment so called, viz. fixing the mind exclusively upon the element of water. See පරිකසින.
