අ සාධක, a. ineffective, ineffectual, ඉෂ්ටනොක රන, බැරිවෙන.

අත් ගුණය, n. efflcacy of the hand, by which some doctors are said to make their medicines effective.

අනුහස, n. power, influence, effect, efficacy, result, ආනිසංසය.

ආ රාධනයකරනවා, v. to gain, win, effect, ඉෂ්ට කරනවා; worship &c.

ආ රාධනාකරනවා, v. to invite, කැඳවනවා; effect, ඉෂ්ට කරනවා.

ආ රාධිත, a. invited, කැඳවනලද; effected; propitiated, worshipped; ඉෂ්ටකරනලද &c.

ආනිසංසය, n. operation, efficacy, effect.

ඉෂ්ටකරනවා, v. t. to accomplish, fulfil, perform; effect.

කර්‍මාන්ත සාධක, a. doing or effecting artificer's work, mechanical.

ක්ලේශය, n. any passion, desire or evil affection, අභිලාෂය, කෙලෙස්; sorrow, affliction, care, දුක. B. teaches that ක්ලේශය or desire is the root of all sin and sorrow, and renders transmigration and continued existence inevitable until all ක්ලේශ are subdued and exterminated; when that is accomplished නිර්‍වාණ or non-existence is attained. The non-attainment of it,—that is, continued conscious existence,—is regarded as a calamity, and it is the supreme object of B. and its laws and observances to effect the extermination of ක්ලේශ.

කාරකය, n. effecting, doing, කෙරීම; gram. the particular relation of an oblique case of the noun to the verb, case: see කාරක.

චිත්‍තර්‍ධය, n. (සෘධිය) power to effect anything by mere thought.

ජනවනවා, v. t. to produce, effect, උපදවනවා; pret. ජැනෙවුවා.

දිවිදොස්, n. the fault or guilt or evil effects of perjury.
