අට වක, අට වක් දින, අට වක් පොහො දින, n. (වක lunar day), eighth day after the new or full moon.

ඌ, n. The eighth vowel of the alphabet. Its sound is that of oo in Food. Its non-initial forms (, ූ) are attached to the lower part of the consonant they vocalize, as කූ kōō, මූ mōō.

ජ, n. The eighth consonant of the alphabet. Its sound is that of the English letter j.

ජයා, n ap. of Durgā, wife of Siva; flag, කො ඩිය; hemp, හණ; the third, eighth and thirteenth day of either the waxing or waning half of the moon.

තිෂ්‍යය, n. the eighth lunar mansion; the month දුරුතු, Jan.-Feb.; Kali-yuga, viz. the fourth or present age.

නි·රෝධ·සමාපත්තිය, n. the eighth stage of religious practice for the purpose of attaining Nirvāna. It is a state of abstract religious meditation in which the senses and passions have been subdued and all desire has ceased.

පාදාර්‍ඪය, n. (·අර්‍ඪය), half line or one eighth of a stanza, පාදභාගය.

පුෂ්‍යය, n. eighth lunar asterism, comprising three stars one of which is ටි canceri; second month of the cold season, දුරුතුමාසය; fourth age of the world, කලියුගය.
