අභි සමනය, n. extermination, නැතිකිරීම, suppression, stoppage, නැවැත්වීම, සංසිඳවීම.

උච්ඡිනත, a. cut up, cut off, eradicated, exterminated, සිඳදමනලද.

උච්ඡේදනය, උච්ඡේදය, n. cutting off, excision, extermination, සිඳදැමීම.

ක්ලේශය, n. any passion, desire or evil affection, අභිලාෂය, කෙලෙස්; sorrow, affliction, care, දුක. B. teaches that ක්ලේශය or desire is the root of all sin and sorrow, and renders transmigration and continued existence inevitable until all ක්ලේශ are subdued and exterminated; when that is accomplished නිර්‍වාණ or non-existence is attained. The non-attainment of it,—that is, continued conscious existence,—is regarded as a calamity, and it is the supreme object of B. and its laws and observances to effect the extermination of ක්ලේශ.

ත්‍රි·භවය, n. the three different existences or conditions through which all must pass before attaining Nirvāna, viz. the Kāma, the Rūpa and the Arūpa states. The first is a state subject to passions, and includes both human and celestial beings or gods so-called; the second is a state in which the passions have been exterminated by asceticism and only a spiritual body remains, which state exists in the ten Brahma worlds; in the third or Arūpa state there remains only the pure invisible spirit. This state immediately precedes Nirvāna or the complete extinction which Buddhism teaches.

නි·රෝධ·සත්‍යය, n. the truth or doctrine of final emancipation through the extermination of ක්ලේශ or the passions. It is one of the four chief doctrines of Buddhism.

නි·වාරණය, n. hindrance, obstacle, බාධාව; prohibition, තහනම; prevention, වැලැක්වීම; extermination, සිඳදැමීම.

නි·වාරණයකරනවා, v. t. to hinder; prevent; stop, නවත්වනවා; exterminate.

මුල·ඝාතනය, මුල ඝාතය, n. eradication, extermination, මුලින්ම සිඳදැමීම.
