අනන්තර භවය, n. the birth or existence immediately following, ඊළඟ or මීටපසු ජීවිතය.

අනු කාමීන, a. following desire, viz. self-willed, wilful, obstinate, හිතුවක්කාර.

අනු ගතව, ad. following, according to, in accordance with, අනුකූලව.

අනු ගමනය, n. following, travelling with, අනුව –කැටුව – යාම.

අනු පදයෙන්, අනු පදිකව, ad. following the steps, step by step, step after step, අඩියක් අඩියක් පාසා.

අනු යායි, a. (යායි going), following, consecutive, consequential, deductive, illative (see above).

අනු සරණය, n. following after, අනුව යාම; custom, පුරුද්ද, සිරිත.

අනු සරය, n. following, accompanying, අනුව යාම; acting with, එක්ව හැසිරීම.

අනු සාරය, n. following after; conforming to custom or usage; අනුවයාම; means or medium, උපක්‍රමය.

අනු,, prefix, signifying association, with; like, according to; sub, secondary, assistant; after. [This must not be confounded with අනු from අන්. and a following උ such as අනුචිත fr. අන්උචිත.]

අභ්‍ය, fr. අභි අ, as අභ්‍යග්‍ර for අභි අග්‍ර, and the following.

ආ, n. The second vowel of the alphabet, sounded like a in 'calm' or 'charm' its non-initial form is (ා) following the consonant it vocalizes, as කා Kā.

ඇ, n. The third vowel of the alphabet, though in some grammars and vocabularies this and the next are placed last of all. Its sound is a modification of අ, and like the sound of a in fat, bat, mat. Its non-initial form is (ැ) following the consonant it vocalizes, as කැබ්, cab.

ඈ, n. The fourth vowel of the alphabet, the lengthened sound of ඇ. Its non-initial form is (ැ) following the consonant it vocalizes, as මෑ Mã.
