අ සම්භීත, a. undismayed, undaunted, නිර්‍බහීත, භයනැති.

අට පිරිස, n. the eight retinues that attended Buddha, viz. military or royal persons, brahmayas, regents of planets, B. priests, Chāturmahārājika gods (the four imperial gods), the Tautisā gods, Māra deities and Brahma: ක්ෂත්‍රියයෝ or රජවරු, බ්‍රහ්මයෝ, ග්‍රහපතියෝ, ශ්‍රම ණයෝ, චාතුර්‍මහාරාජික දෙවිවරු, තව්තිසා දෙවි වරු, මාර දේවතාවරු, මහාබ්‍රහ්මයා. ආදිපාදයාණෝ, n. hon. chief, අධිපතියා, mayor.

ඒ, n. The twelfth letter of the alphabet. Its sound is that of the preceding vowel lengthened: as a in Fade, but somewhat broader, the initial sound of it being maintained throughout, without changing into i as the English sound does: consequently in English words it would seem somewhat inelegant. Its non-initial form is the same as the preceding, but lengthened by the addition of /?/ or ි to the consonant, as කේ ké (cay), මේ mé (may).

කලඹනවා, v. t. to put to confusion, agitate, dismay, alarm; pret. කැලඹුවා; v. n. කැලඹීම.

කැලඹෙනවා, v. i. to be agitated, alarmed, dismayed, put to confusion; pret. කැලඹුණ.

ග්‍රහිතව්‍ය, a. that should or may be taken &c., seizable, apprehensible, ගතයුතු, අල්ලාගත යුතු, ගතහැකිවූ&c.

ගිලාන·පච්චය or ·පඩය or ·ප්‍රත්‍යය, n. sick diet; things which a priest may eat.

ඡේදනීය, ඡේද්‍ය, a. that is to be or may be cut, scissible, sectile, කැපිය හැකිවු.

ඨපනීය, a. that may or ought to be placed or set aside, තැබිය or අහක තැබිය යුතු.

ත්‍රස්තකරනවා, v. i. to terrify, appal; dismay, shock.

ත්‍රස්තය, n. terror, dismay, panic, shadder, භීතිය.

ත්‍රස්තවෙනවා, v. i. to be dismayed, panic-stricken &c., භීතවෙනවා.

දණ්ඩකය, n. a poetical metre a stanza of which may consist of from 28 to 200 syllables.

දෝහෝ, දෝහෝයි, inter. suf. whether perhaps, ඔහු ගියාදෝහෝයි, whether he may have gone, whether or not he went (I know not).
