අ භූතපූර්‍ව, a. (පූර්‍ව previous), unprecedented; wonderful: see අපූර්‍ව.

අග්‍ර සර, a. that goes before, preceding, පෙරටුව යන; advancing, ඉස්සරහට යන.

අනාදෘශ, a. (අන් ආදෘශ), unexampled, unprecedented, ආදෘශයක් නැති.

අනාදෘශතාව, a. lack of example, unprecedentedness.

අපූර්‍ව, (අ priv., පූර්‍ව before), unprecedented, extraordinary, strange, wonderful, remarkable, අපූරු.

අබ්භූත ධම්ම, n. (අප් or අබ් priv., භූත existing, ධම්ම P. of ධර්‍ම), non-existent law or event, unprecedented occurrence, wonder, miracle, අද්භූතය, විස්මයක; B. a work on the miraculous powers of the disciples of Buddha.

ඉ, n. The fifth vowel of the alphabet; the third in Sanskrit, which has not the two preceding. Its sound is the fine sharp sound of i in pin; its non-initial form is (ි), called ඉස්පිල්ල head or top piece, placed above the consonant it vocalizes: as කි,මි පින්, ki, mi, pin.

ඉස්සරව, ඉස්සරවෙලා, ad. first, along in front, precedently.

ඉස්සරවෙනවා, v. i. to get before or precede, move on it front.

ඉහත, a. the preceding, the above.

එ, n. The second letter of the labials, the aspirate of the preceding letter, expressed by ph and pronounced like p in uphill, allowing the h to coalesce with the p.

ඒ, n. The twelfth letter of the alphabet. Its sound is that of the preceding vowel lengthened: as a in Fade, but somewhat broader, the initial sound of it being maintained throughout, without changing into i as the English sound does: consequently in English words it would seem somewhat inelegant. Its non-initial form is the same as the preceding, but lengthened by the addition of /?/ or ි to the consonant, as කේ ké (cay), මේ mé (may).
