අ භූතපූර්‍ව, a. (පූර්‍ව previous), unprecedented; wonderful: see අපූර්‍ව.

අනන්‍යපූර්‍ව, a. no other previous, viz. virgin, නන්‍යාවූ; fig. maiden, first, අලුත්, පළමුවෙනි.

අපූර්‍ව රචිත, a. not previouby composed, newly made, recent, අලුතෙන් රචනාකරනලද.

අය බෑව, n. previous state or existence, පූර්‍ව ජාතිය.

අෂ්ට විද්‍යා, n. pl. the eight kinds of knowledge possessed by Rahats, viz. 1 knowledge attained by religious meditation, 2 knowledge of how to perform supernatural things, 3 knowledge of the various supernatural powers, 4 divine or supernatural hearing, 5 knowledge of others' hearts, 6 knowledge of previous existences, 7 divine sight, 8 knowledge of how to subdue the passions.

ඉස්සර, a. or ad. previous, prior, former, antecedent, fore-; previouby, formerly.

ඉහතින් දා, n. or ad. the previous day, the day before.

ඉහතින් දා රෑ, n. or ad. the previous night, overnight.

ඊ, n. The sixth vowel of the alphabet. Its sound is the previous vowel lengthened, and is the same as ee in Peel or Feel. Its non-initial form is ී placed above the consonant it vocalizes, as කී, මී, kí, mí.

උප ඝාතක කර්‍මය, n. counteracting deed, B., some powerful act or merit which counteracts a previous feeble one.
