*ව්‍යාවෘතතාව, ව්‍යාවෘතිය, n. application, devotedness, යෙදිසිටීම, නියුක්තිය; isolation, උදකලා ස්වභාව.

අ සරණකම, n. forlornness &c., desolateness.

අග්නි ගර්‍භය, n. lit. fire-womb, viz., crystal, පළිඟු; the sun-stone, supposed to contain solar heat, සූර්‍ය්‍යකාන්තය.

අධි මාසය, n. intercalary month, consisting of the difference between the solar and lunar year; super or superior month, viz., the first of any two months that begin during one and the same sign of the zodiac.

අරාම, a. joyless, disconsolate, ප්‍රීතිනැති; unpleasant, අප්‍රිය.

අස්වැසිල්ල, n. comfort, consolation, solace, සැනසිල්ල.

ආ ශ්වාසනය, ආ ශ්වාසය, n. inhaling; taking comfort, consolation,අස්වැසීම, සැනසීම.

ආදිත්‍ය, a. divine, දේව; solar, සූර්‍ය්‍ය.

උදකලා, a. lonely, dreary, isolated, තනිවු.

කල්පය, n. a period said to be equal to a day of Brahma which equals 4,320,000,000 solar years: it is the Sakwala or world period, which is divided into four parts, viz. its formation, its duration, its destruction and its non-entity until the commencement of its reformation. It is difficult, however, to reconcile the various statements one with another, since during the Kalpa the age of man is said to gradually increase from ten years to an asankhya and again to diminish gradually to ten years: an asankhya being about the twentieth power of a million.

කළු·කන්වේරිය, black solanum, a sp. of nightshade, Solanum nigrum (Solan.).

කාන්තාර, a. desert, wild, desolate.

කිරණිඳු කුලය, n. lineage of the sun, solar dynasty, සුර්‍ය්‍යවංශය.

තනිකරනවා, තනිකරතබනවා, v. t. to separate, insulate, isolate.

නටබුන්, a. devastated, desolate, නාස්තිවූ, පාළුවූ.
