අකුර, n. E. of අංකුරය: sprout, bud, දළුව; small stone, කුඩා ගල; pl. අකුරු.

අකුරකින් විදිනවා, v. to shoot with a small stone for augury. This is done by taking stones between the two fore-fingers and projecting them against the bark and leaves of trees and then predicting coming events according to the marks made by the stones.

අගස්තිය, n. a valuable red stone. Bot.

අග් ගල, n. upper millstone, උඩගල.

අග්නි ගර්‍භය, n. lit. fire-womb, viz., crystal, පළිඟු; the sun-stone, supposed to contain solar heat, සූර්‍ය්‍යකාන්තය.

අග්නි මණිය, n. fire-gem, sun-stone; crystal, පළිඟු.

අගේ ඇති ගල, n. precious stone, gem, මැණික් ගල.

අතකුරු ගසනවා, v. to throw small stones with the hand for augury. See අකුරකින් විදිනවා.

අත් ගල, n. hand-stone, (a) for grinding curry-stuffs, (b) potter's smoothing stone.

අනර්‍ඝ ගල, n. precious stone, gem, මැණික්ගල.

අශ්ම ජ, n. (අශ්ම stone ජ produced), red chalk, රතු රටහුනු; iron, යකඩ.

අශ්ම රස, අශ්ම සාර, n. lit. stone essence, viz. iron, යකඩ; also රසාඤ්ජන, which see.

අශ්මභේද, lit. stone-breaker: see පොල්පලා.

අශ්මරි, a. pert. to disease of stone or gravel, lithic, strangurious, මුත්‍රබොක්කේ ගල් සහිත.

අශ්මරි ගල, n. calculus, stone, cystine, මුත්‍රබොක් කේ ගලක්.
