අඬ හැර ලනවා, v. to sing or hum, as whilst at work; pret. අඬහැරලුවා;v. n. අඬහැරලීම.

අතර, conj. or post. in the interval, while, as ඔහු ලියන අතර, while he writes; ඒ අතර (see අතරතුරේ).

අතර මග, a. or ad. midway-, that are on the road: whilst on the way.

අතර‍තුරේ, post. during, among: ඒ අතරතුරේ, during that, meanwhile.

තුර, suf. to අතර, as ඒඅතරතුර: during that, meanwhile.

දණඩාසනය, n. (·ආසන), a sort of table or stool on which to lay a book whilst copying it.

දැක්කදී, දැක්කදින්, ad. lit. whilst seeing: in the presence of, addressing, with, unto. ඔහු මා දැක්කදී කිවුවා, He said to me.

දී, temp. aff. whilst, as එහිදී, whilst there; එද්දී, whilst coming.

දුරදීම, ad. in the distance, whilst distant.

නැත, නැත්, ad. no, not; also, there is or are not: negative of the verb substantive, whilst ‍නොවේ negatives the copula: ඒක නැත or නෑ that does not exist or is not present, ඒක ‍නොවේ it is not that.

පණපිටින්, ad. alive, whilst alive.

පතඦලි, n. (පත fallen, අඦලි hands joined for respect or devotion), name of a sage, the author of the Patanjali or Yoga philosophy, who is said to have fallen from heaven into the hands of Pānini whilst engaged in devotion; also the name of the author of Mahābhāshya or commentary of Pānini, and of the Charaka, a medical work: also ap. of the poet Vararuchi.

පොත්·ලනුව, n. book-string, viz. the string passed through the leaves and covers of a native book to keep the leaves in place whilst read and then tie round the book.

බොලන්, int. used in addressing familiarly ‍බොලරසා, n. dross which falls from iron whilst being forged.
