අග්‍ර හායනය, n. end of the year, viz. the month so called, November-December.

අතිරේක වර්‍ෂය, n. leap year, අධිකමාස වර්‍ෂය.

අධි මාස වර්‍ෂය, n. leap year.

අධි මාසය, n. intercalary month, consisting of the difference between the solar and lunar year; super or superior month, viz., the first of any two months that begin during one and the same sign of the zodiac.

අන්තඃ කල්පය, n. a certain number of years in Buddhism: according to B. man's age increases by imperceptible degrees from ten years to an Asankhya (අසංඛ්‍ය) and then decreases in the same way to ten years: the period required for this is an Antahkalpa. See අසංඛ්‍ය.

අනේවා, n. pl. several years, අවුරුදු ගණනක්.

අබදය, n. (අප් water, දය giver), cloud, වලාකුළ; year, අවුරුද්ද.

අව ච්ඡායාව, අව ච්ඡාව, n. (අව off, ඡායා shadow), the portion of one's shadow rejected according to the time of the year in reckoning the hour by the sun.

අවුරුද්ද, n. year; pl. අවුරුදු.

අවුරුද්ද දවස, n. new-year's day.

අවුරුදු පතා, a. or ad. yearly, annual, annually.

අෂ්ට වර්‍ෂ ස්ථ, a. lasting eight years, octennial, අට අවුරුද්දක් පවතින.

ආර්‍කෂ වර්‍ෂය, n. sidereal year, තාරකාවර්‍ෂය.
