ඇත් වරණයා, n. the leading or chief elephant.

ඇස්, n. pl. or a. of ඇස: eyes; eye-.

ඇරඹය, n. E. of ආරම්භය: beginning, පටන් ගැන්ම.

ඇ, n. The third vowel of the alphabet, though in some grammars and vocabularies this and the next are placed last of all. Its sound is a modification of අ, and like the sound of a in fat, bat, mat. Its non-initial form is (ැ) following the consonant it vocalizes, as කැබ්, cab.

ඇරවීම, v. n. of අරවනවා: causing to open &c., fr. අරිනවා.

ඇන්නෑ, ඈන්නෑවක්, int. botheration! nuisance! Oh, dear me!

ඇතුල්වෙනවා, v. i. to enter, penetrate.
