ඇ, n. The third vowel of the alphabet, though in some grammars and vocabularies this and the next are placed last of all. Its sound is a modification of අ, and like the sound of a in fat, bat, mat. Its non-initial form is (ැ) following the consonant it vocalizes, as කැබ්, cab.

ඇටවීම, v. n. of අටවනවා: setting a trap &c.

ඇත් කටුව, n. elephant-hook or goad, හෙණ්ඩුව.

ඇට කුහුඹියා, n. small ant.

ඇඳීම, v. n. of අඳිනවා: dressing, wearing, පැලඳගැනීම: delineating, drawing, සටහන් කෙරීම; dress, apparel, ඇඳුම, පැලඳුම.

ඇඹරීම, ඇඹරුම, v. n. of අඹරනවා and ඇඹරෙ නවා: grinding, twisting &c.
