නිර්‍භවය, n. non-existence, නොපැවැත්ම.

නො·දා·දුව, n. daughter who is not one's own, viz. step-daughter.

නිවන, n. E. of නිර්‍වාණය.

නිලමේ, n. high official, chief; pl. නිලමවරු.

නිර්‍වාණ, a. (නිර් out, වණ් to sound or go), subduing, යටපත්කරන, extinguishing, නිවන; pert. to Nirvāna, නිවන්.

න·දිගු, න·දිඟු, a. not long, short, කොට: see නගුර.

න, prefix, with a negative, privative or prohibitive force. Its normal form is නො, as නොකර, but its vowel is varied according to the vowel which follows and sometimes is merely න‍. Thus නාරින for නොඅරින, නෑර, for නොඇර, නේන for නොඑන, නූපන් for නො උපන්, නුදුටු &c., but not නී, as නොඉල්ලා, not නීල්ලා.

නුවන්, n. pl. or a. eyes, ඇස්; eye-.
