නියෝගකරනවා, v. t. to appoint, command, ordain, decree.

නො·වන, v. adj. neg. of වෙනවා: not occuring; that is not (something), as මිත්‍රයෙක් නොවන අය, the person who is not a friend.

නේ, නෙක, a. various, නොයෙක්.

නෛරාශ්‍යය, n. despair: see නිරාශාව.

නාග·කිඦල්කය, n. flower of the iron-wood tree, නාගහේ මල.

නිමිත්ත·පාඨකයා, n. explainer of omens, augur, නිමිතිකියන්නා.

න, prefix, with a negative, privative or prohibitive force. Its normal form is නො, as නොකර, but its vowel is varied according to the vowel which follows and sometimes is merely න‍. Thus නාරින for නොඅරින, නෑර, for නොඇර, නේන for නොඑන, නූපන් for නො උපන්, නුදුටු &c., but not නී, as නොඉල්ලා, not නීල්ලා.

නගනවා, v. t. to raise up, lift up; build; tranbate into (a language); pret. නැගුවා; v. n. නැගීම.
