යැපෙනවා, v. i. to suffice, be enough, සෑහෙනවා; pret. යැපුණා; v. n. යැපීම.

යුධානයා, n. soldier, warrior, හේවායා.

යාපත්, a. for යහපත්.

යුග·ත·ග, n. (යුගත,අත, fire), see යුගත ගිනි.

යුගය, n. two, couple, කුට්ටම, pair, යුග ලය; yoke, වියගහ; a measure of four cubits; era, age or duration of the world, the four ages are called කෘත or සතය,ත්‍රෙතා,ද්වාපාර, and කලි, which last is the present age: see කෘතයුගය &c.

යන්ත්‍ර, n. pl. or a. machines; pert to machines or implements.

යන්ත්‍ර·අළවංගුව, n. machine axle or shaft.

යටත්වෙනවා, v. i. to become humble, be submissive, submit, obey.

යවහන්, n. the combination of ය, ව, හ, න්: when any of these letters is the final letter of the lines of a stanza it is considered the rule that the penultimate letter also should be the same in all four lines.
