රක්‍ෂාව, n. preservation, protection, ආරක්‍ෂාව; livelihood, avocation, living, maintenance, support, රැකිරක්‍ෂාව, නඩත්තුව; ashes, අළු; preservative, viz. a sort of bracelet or thread bound round the wrists at special periods.

රහත්වෙනවා, v. i. B., to become a Rahat, attain saintship; disappear, නොපෙනීයනවා අන්තර්ධානවෙනවා.

රත·නුවන, n. (නුවන eye), red-eyed one, viz. Indian cuckoo, කෝකිලයා, pigeon, කොබෙයි යා; buffalo, මීවා,

රබ්බඩ·පුවක්, n. (for රත්·බඩ or ·මද), red pith arecanut, viz. tender arecanut, the kernel of which is red or pink.

රෝම·ගහක්, n. a hair or bristle, or single fibre of wool.

රිට්ටාව, n. (for රික්තාව); ap. of the fourth, nmth or fourteenth day of the lunar‍ fortinght; the 4th is called ජල·වක රිට්ටාව, the 9th නව·වක රිට්ටාව, the 14th තුදුස්·වක රිට්ටාව. They are said to be unlucky.

රක්ෂෝඝන, n. (රක්‍ෂස් evil spirit, ඝන what destroys), sour gruel or congee (made from fermented rice water), asafetida, ‍පෙරුන් කායම්.
