වේදාංගය, n. (වේද අංගය), branch of knowledge or of the Veda; there are six such regarded as subordinate parts of the Veda, viz. ශික්‍ෂා ශාස්ත්‍රය, learning, sp. pronunciation; කල්ප ශාස්ත්‍රය, religious ceremonies; ව්‍යාකරණ ශා ස්ත්‍රය, grammar; ඡන්‍දශ්ශාස්ත්‍රය, prosody; ජෝතිශ්‍ය ශාස්ත්‍රය, astronomy, and නිරුක්ති ශාස්ත්‍රය, glossography or science of explanation.

වජ්‍රාංකුශය, n. (අං:), diamond-hook or goad, used in guiding the royal elephant.

වහුම්පුරයා, n. mas. person of the jaggery caste.

වියදම්වෙනවා, v. i. to become expended, spent used up.

වාමයා, n. sentient-being, animal. සත්‍වයා; ap. of Siva, see වාමදෙවියා.

විෂ·දන්තකයා, n, poisonous-toothed one, viz. snake, සර්‍පයා.
