වි·ජය, n. (වි emp., ජි to conquer), victory, ජය; a sort of spear; ap. of king අර්ජුන and of යම, name also of that famous king of the ශාක්‍ය race who came to Ceylon with 700 followers, subdued the inhabitants, brought settlers from India and established the Sinhalese Monarchy; car of the gods, දිව්‍යරථය; twenty-seventh year of the Indian cycle of sixty-years.

වි·නය·ස්ථතාව, n. compliant disposition, යටත් වන සුල්ල; supplenes, නැමෙන ගතිය.

විත්තය, n. thing, substance, wealth, වස්තුව; gain, ලාභය.

වෙන්දේසි, n. pl. or a D., auction sales; pert. thereto.

වේල්ල, n. embankment, dam of a paddy field, which serves also as a path, නියර.

වසී·ප්‍රාප්ත, a. (වසි dwelling, ප්‍රප්ත attained), completed, fulfilled, paid (as penance &c.).

වාත·ග්‍රස්ත, a. (ග්‍රස්ත seized), seized or affected with rheumatism, rheumatic.

වෙරිකාරයා, n. mas. one who is drunk, මත්ව සිටින්නා.
