වු, v. adj. pret. became: as ලෙඩවූකල = ලෙඩ වුණකල; also affix to adjectives and verbs: හොඳවූ, මහත්වූ, which is good and large: කළාවූ, කරන්නාවූ, that did, that does.

වි·දර්‍භ, n. (වි priv., දර්‍භ sacrificial grass), desert region, කාන්තාර පළාතක් a district and city to the south-west of Bengal, so called, it is said, because the sacred grass does not grow there, the district having been cursed by a saint whose son had died of a wound from a blade of that grass. The district is now called Berar.
