වාවනවා, v. to sustain, uphold, උසුලනවා; tolerate, endure, ඉවසනවා. වානවා; pret. වෑවුවා.

වමාරා·කනවා, v. t. to bring up and chew, chew the cud, ruminate.

වි·ලාප·ගීතිකාව, n elegy, ලතෝනිකවිය.

වි·ශිර්‍ණ, a dried up, wasted, වියළි, ක්‍ෂයවූ.

වාපනය, n. sowing, වැපිරීම.

විනය·පිටකය, n. name of one of the B. sacred books, the second of the Three Pitakas relating entirely to the priests. It is divided into five main parts called respectively පාරාජිකා, ප‍චිති, සුළුවග, මහවග and පරිවාර, this last being a summary of the chief doctrines of the other four.

වඳකරනවා, v. t. to make barren, spay.
