ශූර·වීර, a. very heroic, brave, stalwart, see ශූර.

ශීතකරනවා, v. t. to make cold, cool, refrigerate.

ශීත·පාකිනි, n a drug or medicinal root, see කාකෝලිය.

ශක·වර්‍ෂය, n. ශක: a term applied to any king from the beginning of whose reign the years are reckoned, so that ශකවර්‍ෂය is the Saka year or era, of which in this කලියුගය there have been three, instituted severally by the kings යුධිෂ්ඨිර, වික්‍රමාදිත්‍ය, and ශාලිවාහන; this last is the present era which began A. D. 78.

ශාසනික, a. governing, ආණ්ඩුකාර; instructing, advising, ආවාද දෙන; clerical (not laic), පැවිදි, religious, ආගමානුකූල.

ශුලාකාර, a. lanceolate, ඊතලය ආකාර.

ශංකා, n. pl. or a. doubts, අනුමාන; doubtful, doubting, සැකවූ.

ශරත්·සෘතුව, ශරත්·කාලය, n. autumn season, වප්, ඉල් දෙමසට ඇතුළත් කාලය.

ශුභ·ජනකයා, n. promoter of prosperity or good, philanthropist.

ශෛක්‍ෂයා, n. (fr. ශික්‍ෂ් to learn), brahmin scholar, young brahmin who is learning to read the Vedas.
