ශාස්ත්‍රෝදග්‍රහණය, n. (ශාස්ත්‍ර උද්:), the study or attainment of science, culture, education, ශාස්ත්‍රඉගනීම, උගත්කම.

ශුද්ධ, a. clean, සුද්ද, pure, holy, පිරිසිදු; faultless, correct. නිදොස්, නිවරදි.

ශුද්ධිතාව, n. See ශුද්ධකම.

ශ, n. The first of the seventh or sibilant class of letters. It is a palatal sibilant and its true sound is probably a light Sh as heard in the word Cession; but in general usage it does not differ from the dental ස. Some words are written either with ශ or ස.

ශ්‍රත්, prefix. signifying belief or reverence.

ශෘංගි, n. a sort of meat fish, silurus pungentissimus.

ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨ·නීතින්‍දයා, n. barrister, advocate, අද්වකාත්.

ශාරංගයා, n. (ශාර variegated, අංග body): ap. of the deer, peacock and elephant, මුවා, මොනරා, අලියා, and Ceylon hornbill, see චාත කයා.

ශාසන·භාර, ශාසන·රක්‍ෂක, a. in charge of or guarding religion, tutelary.

ශිපිවිෂ්ටයා, n. bald man, තට්ටයා, leper, ලාදුරු ලෙඩා.
