ඉ, n. The fifth vowel of the alphabet; the third in Sanskrit, which has not the two preceding. Its sound is the fine sharp sound of i in pin; its non-initial form is (ි), called ඉස්පිල්ල head or top piece, placed above the consonant it vocalizes: as කි,මි පින්, ki, mi, pin.

ඉහිල් රෙද්ද, n. canvas of thin or loose texture, scrim.

ඉලිප්පෙනවා, v. i. to rise to the surface, float; protuberate, නෙරාතිබෙන; pret. ඉලිප්පුණා.

ඉහාමුත්‍ර, ad. here and hereafter, මෙහිහා මින්මතු.

ඉක්ෂවාකු වංශය, n. Snryavansa or Sun-dynasty, සූර්‍ය්‍යවංශය.
