අ වංකලෙස, ad. sincerely, honestly &c.

අඩ සෙන්, n. part of an army, a detachment, සේනා කණ්ඩායම; arrow.

අපාය භය, n. fear of hell, අපාය ගැන ඇති භය.

අ දණ්ඩනාවසරය, n. (අවසරය), R. C. grant of impunity, indulgence, පූර්‍ණඵලය.

අම්බු ධීය, n. (ධී to contain), water-holder, viz. the ocean, මුහුද.

අෂ්ට ධර්‍මය, n. the law of eight, viz. the eight essentials for becoming a Buddha: 1 manhood, 2 the male sex, 3 merit, 4 to have seen a Buddha, 5 ascetic condition, monkhood, 6 virtuousness, 7 aspiration to Buddhahood, 8 a strenuous heart for it.

අ සම්බන්ධ, a. disconnected, separate, unconnected, unallied, සම්බන්ධනැති, නොබැඳි; incoherent, irrelevant, ගැළපී නැති, desultory, ආකූල.

අ ප්‍රාවීණ්‍යය, n. unskilfulness, අසමර්‍ථකම.

අක්ෂය, n. a die used in gambling; wheel, චක්‍රය; organ of sense, ඉන්ද්‍රියය; seed or nut called මාෂ (see අක්ෂමාලාව); a weight of sixteen මාෂ seeds; law, නීතිය; law-suit, නඩුව.

අනු භුක්තිකරනවා, v. t. to enjoy, භුක්තිවිඳිනවා.
