අපුල්ලනවා, v. t. to full or wash clothes (generally by beating); pret. ඇපුල්ලුවා; v. n. ඇ පිල්ලීම.

ආකෝටනය, n. giving strokes or beating, chopping, කෙටීම; washing clothes, ඇපිල්ලීම.

ආශිර්‍වාදලත්කම, n. blessedness, beatitude.

කනවා, v. t. to eat; fig. suffer, as තැළුම්කනවා, suffer beating; pret. කෑවා; v. n. කෑම.

ගුමුව, n. beating, තැළීම; fence of dead bushes or live fence, වැට; thicket, ළැහැබ.

තැළුම්කනවා, v. to suffer a beating, be flogged.

දස·සීලය, n. B. P., the tenfold duty or ten duties, viz. abstaining from killing, theft, falsehood, sexual intercourse, intoxicants, eating after mid-day, from dancing, singing, drum-beating, witnessing ludicrous exhibitions, from indulging in perfumes, unguents, personal adornments &c., from the use of high and luxurious seats or beds, from accepting gold or silver or money.

දේව·තාඩයා, n. (තාඩ beating), ap. of Rāhu, the personified ascending node.

පලාල·පීඨකය, n. straw mat for wiping the feet, door-mat; capital punishment by beating the culprit till he becomes like a bundle of straw.

පෝය·හේවිසිය, n. tomtom beating on a quarter day of the moon.

මහෝදය, n. (මහා උදය), the great dawn or blessedness, viz. final beatitude in the attainment of නිර්‍වාණය; abandoning, අත්ඇරයාම, getting free, මිදීම.

මැදුම්·පොල්ල, n. (මැදුම් fr. මදිනවා), bruising stick, short club for beating the coconut spathe to make the liquor exude more freely: see මල්තැළුම.

වැයීම, වැයුම, v. n. of වයනවා: beating, striking (tomtom &c), ගැසීම, වාදනයකිරීම.

ස්වර්‍ග·ගත, ස්වර්‍ගෝපගත, a. (ස්වර්‍ග උපගත), who has attained heaven, glorified, beatified, sainted, ස්වර්‍ගයට පැමිණි.
