අ විශේෂය, n. a non-characteristic, what does not differ, සාමාන්‍ය එකක්.

අග්නි කාරිකාව, අග්නි කාර්‍ය්‍යය, n. (කාරිකාව, &c., making), the maintaining of a saerificial fire; that which does it, viz, fuel, sp. ghee, ගිතෙල්.

අනර්‍ථකාරයා, n. evil-doer, දුශ්‍වරිතයා, injurious person, අනදරකරන්නා.

අනාගාමියා, n. non-returner, viz, one who does not re-incarnate either in this or a divine world, but attains a Brahma world.

අනුල්ලංඝනාකාර, a. (ආකාර) such as does not go beyond or transgress, or is not passed over or transgressed, impassable, පිටනොයන– කඩනොකරන–ආකාර.

අප රාධක‍යා, අප රාධිකයා, n. guilty person, delinquent, evil-doer.

අර්‍ථ ක්‍රියාව, n. gram. verbal noun or appellative indicating the doer, as ලියන්නා.

අහෝසික කර්‍මය, n. B., an act which does not involve reward or punishment.

ඒ, n. The twelfth letter of the alphabet. Its sound is that of the preceding vowel lengthened: as a in Fade, but somewhat broader, the initial sound of it being maintained throughout, without changing into i as the English sound does: consequently in English words it would seem somewhat inelegant. Its non-initial form is the same as the preceding, but lengthened by the addition of /?/ or ි to the consonant, as කේ ké (cay), මේ mé (may).

ඕ, n. The fifteenth letter of the alphabet. It is a long o which retains its initial sound to the end, and does not, like the English long o, terminate in oo: consequently it is a broad and, to English ears, a bightly vulgar sound.

කතු, n. E. of කර්‍තෘ: the doer, author &c.

කර්‍තෘ, කර්‍තෘකාරයා, කර්‍තෘවරයා, n. doer, කරන්නා; author; editor; pl. කර්‍තෘවරු &c.

කර්‍තෘක, n. an agent, one who does anything

කර්‍තෘකාරී, n. fem. doer, කරන්නී; authoress; editor.

කර්‍ම ධා‍ර සමාසය, n. compound noun having the first member in the accusative case, as මෙහෙ කරුවා, work-doer.
