අ රූ තල, n. pl. the bodiless realms or planes, viz. the four brahma worlds where the inhabitants are immaterial.

අ රූ තලයක්, n. any ony of the above four.

අ රූප ධර්‍මය, n. B. bodiless state or the four mental states, viz. sensation, perception, apprehension, knowledge.

අ රූපාවචර, a. pert. to the immaterial planes or those four brahma worlds; or n. bodiless or immaterial plane or world, viz. where immaterial beings are or the mind alone exists.

අ රූපි බඔ ලොව, n. incorporeal brahma world: any one of the four අරුතල.

අංගුත්තර සඟීය, n. (අංග උත්තර), the fourth of the five parts of the සූත්‍රපිටකය.

අට පිරිස, n. the eight retinues that attended Buddha, viz. military or royal persons, brahmayas, regents of planets, B. priests, Chāturmahārājika gods (the four imperial gods), the Tautisā gods, Māra deities and Brahma: ක්ෂත්‍රියයෝ or රජවරු, බ්‍රහ්මයෝ, ග්‍රහපතියෝ, ශ්‍රම ණයෝ, චාතුර්‍මහාරාජික දෙවිවරු, තව්තිසා දෙවි වරු, මාර දේවතාවරු, මහාබ්‍රහ්මයා. අථර්‍වන්, n. name of the fourth Veda; also ap. of Siva, ශිව.

අධිත්‍ය සමුත්පත්තිය, n. insuspicious re-birth, miserable re-existence, either in one of the four hells or blind or lame, &c., in this world, අහේතුක උත්පත්තිය.

අන්ත්‍ය වර්‍ණයා, n. mas. (වර්‍ණය caste), a person of the last of the four castes, viz. a sudra, ශුද්‍රයා.

අනාගාමී මාර්‍ගය, n, non-re-incarnating path, viz. the third out of the four to Nirvāna. See චතුර්විධමාර්‍ග.

අර්‍හත් මාර්‍ගය, n. rahat path: the last and highest of the four paths to Nirvāna, when, all the passions being extinguished, there is no further transmigration, and the rahat attains Nirvāna.

අව ජල වක, n. the after or latter fourth day, viz. fourth day after the full moon.

අෂ්ට කර්‍ණයා, n. Eight-eared One: ap. of Brahma, said to have four heads and eight ears.

අෂ්ට සමාපත්ති, n. pl. B., the eight attainments, or the four meditations (see ධ්‍යානය) and the four endeavours (ආයතන), which are ආකාසා නංචායතනය, විඤ්ඤාණංචායතනය, ආකිචංඤ්ඤායත නය and නේවසංඤ්ඤාණසඤ්ඤායතනය: see each one.
