අ කනිඨ, අ කනිෂ්ඨ, a. not inferior or younger, elder, eldest, superior.

අ ප්‍රති නාථය, n. period without a ruler, inter`regnum, ආණ්ඩුකාරයෙක් නැති කාලය.

අ ප්‍රති නාථයා, n. one without a superior, supreme or peerless one, මහෝත්තමයා.

අ වාරය, n out-of-season period, non-bearing season (of trees).

අ සංඛ්‍ය කල්පය, n. the period so called, being about twenty අන්තඃ කල්ප.

අග්‍ර, a. top, head-, highest, chief, principal, best, superior, excellent; terminal, extreme, end-(portion), අග. See අග්‍රය.

අද්‍ය තන, a. of to-day, pert. to this period, the present, අද දවසේ, මෙදා.

අද්‍ය තනය, n. the period of the present day, to-day, අද.

අධි, prefix. above, over, superior.

අධි ක්‍රමය, n. invasion (see ආක්‍රමණය); superiority.

අධි මාසය, n. intercalary month, consisting of the difference between the solar and lunar year; super or superior month, viz., the first of any two months that begin during one and the same sign of the zodiac.

අන්තඃ කල්පය, n. a certain number of years in Buddhism: according to B. man's age increases by imperceptible degrees from ten years to an Asankhya (අසංඛ්‍ය) and then decreases in the same way to ten years: the period required for this is an Antahkalpa. See අසංඛ්‍ය.

අනාගතය, n. period not yet come, the future, futurity, මතුකාලය.

අනු ක්‍රම සංග්‍රහය, n. periodical, serial, කාලාන්තර සංග්‍රහය. E. S.
