අ මර පුර නිකාය, n. Amarapura sect of Buddhists introduced into Ceylon about A. D. 1800 by Ambagahapitiya priest; the priests of this sect are in communion with priests of Burma.

අ ශ්‍රමණ, a. non-ascetic, laic, ගිහි; unpriestly, unbecoming a monk, තාපසයාට නුසුදුසු.

අ සංවාසික, a. not dwelling together, expelled (as a priest from co-residsnce), outcast, පහ කරනලද.

අග්‍ර පුරෝහිතයා, n. chief brahminical priest, royal chaplain, නායක බ්‍රාහ්මණයා; prime minister.

අභි යුක්තයා, n, priest's servant, attendant, අත වැසියා.

අෂ්ට විධ පාන, n. pl. B., the eight kinds of beverage allowed to priests, viz. that made from මීපැණි, මුද්‍රිකඵල, බොරළුදමනු, උපුල්අල, ඇට කෙසෙල්, මස් කෙසෙල්, අඹ, and දඹ: see each in its place. The juice of these is to be mixed with water.

අසපුව, n. priest's residence, පන්සල.

ආනන්තර්‍ය්‍ය කර්‍ම, n. pl. deeds or results without an interval, i. e. the five අකුසල් which are to be punished in the very next life, viz. matricide, patricide, the murder of a Rahat, shedding blood of a Buddha, schism (amongst the priesthood, සංඝභේදය), and the eight කුසල් or අෂ්ටසමාපති which are to be at once rewarded.

ආරණ්‍යකාංගය, n. (අංගය), B., forest-dwelling ordinance, viz. ordinance which requires the priests to reside in forests or solitary places: see තෙලෙස්ධූතාංග.
