අ කාරණය, n. what is no cause or reason.

අ විතර්‍ක, a. unreflecting, කල්පනානොකරන, unreasoning, not disputatious, තර්‍කනොකරන.

අටි වඩනවා, v. to increase desire, enamour, entice, whet the appetite or desire; pret. අටි වැඩුවා; v. n. අටිවැඩීම.

අඩුවැඩිවෙන‍වා, v. i. to diminish and increase, wax and wane; remit (of fever &c.)

අඩුවෙනවා, v. i. to decrease, diminish, abate.

අත පෙරවනවා, v. to fold the arm across the breast; pl. අත් පෙරවනවා, to fold the arms.

අතතුර, n. (අත්, අතුර interval), the breast, ළය; pl. අතතුරු.

අත් අතුර, n. space between the arms, viz. the breast, bosom, ළැපැත්ත.

අන්තඃ කල්පය, n. a certain number of years in Buddhism: according to B. man's age increases by imperceptible degrees from ten years to an Asankhya (අසංඛ්‍ය) and then decreases in the same way to ten years: the period required for this is an Antahkalpa. See අසංඛ්‍ය.
