අඳුනනවා, v. t. to know, recognize (persons); p. pl. ඇඳින pret. ඇඳින්නා v. n. ඇඳිනීම.

අභි ඥාත, a. ascertained, known, දැන‍‍‍ගනතිබෙව, දන්නාලද, අභිඥානය, අභිඥාව n profound or sp. or extraordinary knowledge, cognition, recognition, විශේෂ දැනගැන්ම or දැනීම; five supernatural acquirements of Rahats, viz. power to assume any form, to hear the feeblest sounds and see objects at any distance, to know the disposition and thoughts of others, to know the condition of any person in former existences.

ඇඳිනගන්නවා, v. t. to become aquainted with, recognise, (persons).

ඇඳිනගැනීම, ඇඳිනීම, v. n. becoming acquainted with, recognition.

ඇඳිනීම, v. n. of අඳුනනවා: recognizing, recognition, being acquainted with.

ඇඳිනෙන‍වා, v. i. to become known or recognised; pret. ඇඳිනුණා

කළ ගුණ දන්නා, n. one who recognizes kindness done, grateful person: see කෙළෙහිගුණ &c.

නාඳුනනවා, v. t. (න අඳු:), not to recognise, to be unacquainted with: pret. නෑඳින්නා; v. n. නෑඳිනීම.

පංච·ස්කන්‍ධ, n. pl. the five divisions or constituents of man: රූපස්කන්‍ධය &c., viz, රූපය, the body; වේදනාස්කන්‍ධය, feeling, perception; සංඥාස්කන්‍ධය, bare recognition or apprehension; සංස්කාරස්කන්‍ධය, moral or mental state, as of covetousness or doubt &c. to the number of fifty different states; විඥනස්ක න්‍ධය, knowledge, consciousness. The five are divided into two parts, නාම and රූප, of which four ස්කන්‍ධ, portions, belong to නාමය or the mind.
