අර්‍ථාන්විත, a. ( ‍අන්විත), having a meaning, signifying, significant, තේරුමක් ඇත්තාවූ; wealthy, වස්තුකාර.

අලං, prefix, signifying beauty and sufficiency.

අව, prefix, signifying from, off, away, down; privation of, the opposite of, bad.

ආ, prefix, signifying to, unto, up to, even to, emphasis.

උප, prefix signifying auxiliary, secondary, near; over, in addition, excessive.

උපරි, prefix signifying on, over, above, up; bot. superior: see ඌඩ්වස්ථ.

එපා, part. (probably from ඒ පහ – that aside): signifying with first pers. dat. case, not wanted, will not accept; with 2nd pers. nom. case as an auxiliary after the infinitive mood it is prohibitive, as උඹ or උඹලා යන්ට එපා, Go thou or ye not.

ඕම්, n. the mystic name of the H. Trinity, supposed to be compounded of, අ, උ, ම්, signifying respectively Vishnu, Siva and Brahma.

කා, prefix, signifying bad, evil, as කාපථය bad road.

කාරයා, aff. signifying Doer, as වැඩකාරයා, doer of work, servant.
