අකුණු ගහනවා, v. the lightning or thunderbolt strikes.

අඩි හපනවා, v. to stamp or strike the foot on anything, as animals, &c.

අත ගහනවා, v. to apply the hand, strike the hand upon, touch, handle, meddle, strike the hand to confirm a bargain, &c.

අත පහරනවා, v. to strike or touch with the hand, අතගහනවා.

ගසනවා, ගහනවා, v. with dat.: to strike, knock, give a blow; v. t. with acc.: to affix (one thing to another by nailing &c.), as ලැලි ගහනවා to afflx boards, to board; ඇණයක් ගහනවා, to drive in a nail; pret. ගැසුවා; v. n. ගැසීම.

ගසාදමනවා, v. t. to knock down, cast down; shake or strike off (as dust &c.).

ගහට, n. affliction, suffering, පීඩාව; striking against, හැප්පීම.

ගහටකරනවා, v. to afflict, taunt, පීඩාකරනවා; strike, ගහනවා.
