අ ක්‍රමතාව, n. irregularity, anomalousness, &c., ක්‍රමනැතිකම.

අභි මංගලය, අභි මංගල්‍යය, n. great feast, high festival, උතුම් මංගල්‍යය.

අරවනවා, v.c. of අරිනවා: to cause to be sent, dismissed. put away or opened; වෙහෙස අර වනවා: to remove fatigue, refresh, rest; pret. ඇරෙවුවා; v. n. ඇරවීම.

අමුතු ගතිය, n. fresh condition, freshness, newness.

අසුපෑවත, n. and a. beautiful sight, rich crop; pleasing.

අණ්ඩර දෙමළ, n. nonsense, twaddle, හෑල්ල.

අරගනඑනවා, v. t. to bring, carry hither.

අදෝනාව, n. lamentation, whining, whine.

අට පිරිකර, n. pl. the eight accoutrements or articles required by a B. P., viz. bowl, under-garment, single robe, double robe, girdle, knife or razor, needle and water-strainer: පාත්‍රය, අඳනය, තනිපටසිවුර, දෙපටසිවුර, පටිය, පිහිය, ඉඳිකටුව, පෙරහන්කඩ.

අට පිරිස, n. the eight retinues that attended Buddha, viz. military or royal persons, brahmayas, regents of planets, B. priests, Chāturmahārājika gods (the four imperial gods), the Tautisā gods, Māra deities and Brahma: ක්ෂත්‍රියයෝ or රජවරු, බ්‍රහ්මයෝ, ග්‍රහපතියෝ, ශ්‍රම ණයෝ, චාතුර්‍මහාරාජික දෙවිවරු, තව්තිසා දෙවි වරු, මාර දේවතාවරු, මහාබ්‍රහ්මයා.
