යම, යමයා, n. The Indian Pluto, who is the Regent of the South and of death, and judge in the infernal region called පාතාලය of those who at death go there because it is doubtful whether they are bad enough for නරකාදිය or good enough for ස්වර්‍ගය, virtue and vice being about equal in them, their fate Yama decides: දකුණු දිශාවේ දෙවියා, යමරජ.

යෝධයා, n. giant; warrior, හේවායා, combatant, භටයා, hero, වීරයා.

යුහු·සුලුවෙනවා, v. i. to haste, hurry.

යෝනි·මාර්‍ගය, n. vagina, යොන්මග.

යුෂ්මත්ශබ්දය, යුෂ්මද්වාචකය, යුෂ්මද්වාච්‍යය, n. gram. second-person word, viz. a word which expresses the second person, as Thou, Ye, and in their cases, as Thy, Your &c.

යුද්ධ·ශාස්ත්‍රය, n. science of war, strategics, strategy.

යවහන්, n. the combination of ය, ව, හ, න්: when any of these letters is the final letter of the lines of a stanza it is considered the rule that the penultimate letter also should be the same in all four lines.
