වක්කරනවා, v. t. to pour out, shed; coil (as a rope).

වැසෙනවා, v. i. of වසනවා, v. t.: to shut or close of itself or admit of being shut; of වස නවා, v. i. to become covered; abide, dwell; to indwell, take possession, as යක්‍ෂයෙක් ඔහු ට වැසුණ or වැහුණ, a demon took possession of or entered him.

වායව්‍ය, a. pert. to the wind,සුළං; sacred to the god of the wind, වායුදෙවියාට කැපවූ.

වේසා·ගෙය, n. See වේශ්‍යාගෘහය.

වරුළු, n. a division or part of the day, පෙර වරුව, forenoon; පස්වරුව, afternoon; heap of paddy, වීගොඩ.

වද·බන්දනය, n. worry, harassment, annoyance, හිරිහැරය.

වැකි, වැකුණු, v. adj. pret. of වැකෙනවා; smeared on, rubbed on, ගෑවුණු, තැවරුණු.

විට, n. time, occasion, කල, වතාව, with verbs, when, as ඔහු ගිය විට,, when he went; as ad. විටක් දෙවිටක් &c. once or twice,, on one or two occasions.

වැද්දා, n. archer, දුනුවායා; one of the Veddah race, who are archers living in the interior jungles of Ceylon, and are supposed to be the aborigines of the iband; pl. වැද්දෝ.
