ඉ, n. The fifth vowel of the alphabet; the third in Sanskrit, which has not the two preceding. Its sound is the fine sharp sound of i in pin; its non-initial form is (ි), called ඉස්පිල්ල head or top piece, placed above the consonant it vocalizes: as කි,මි පින්, ki, mi, pin.

ඉඟිකරුව, p. pl. as ad. blinking, with blinking or by glance.

ඉති, ad. thus, මෙසේ: see ඉතින්.

ඉන්ද්‍රිය රහිත, a. without organs of sense, inorganic.

ඉසාන, a.; ඉසානය, n. for ඊෂාන &c., north-east.

ඉතා, ඉතාම, ඉතාමත්ම, ad. very, exceedingly, excessively.

ඉඳුරු, a. east, නැගෙනඉර: tender, soft, මෘදු; chief, exalted, ප්‍රධාන, උතුම්.

ඉහත, a. the preceding, the above.

ඉස්සා, n. shrimp, prawn.
